Google’s chip still lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite in raw performance, but the Tensor G5 is commendable, at least significantly improved compared to its predecessor. The Pixel 10 series has consistently disappointed me in battery life tests, so it’s not surprising to see the Pixel 10 Pro Fold continue this trend. The main screen lasted 22 hours and 8 minutes playing a looping video, while the external screen ran out of power after 24 hours and 52 minutes. Neither of these phones compares to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and they’re among the worst foldable phones this year. The best foldable phone we’ve seen so far is the Honor Magic V5, with its outstanding external screen performance.
TheHonor Magic V5’s batterylife exceeds 36 hours—better than most non-foldable phones.
While charging speeds have technically improved since last year—wired charging from 21W to 30W and wireless charging more than doubled from 7.5W to 15W—it’s somewhat frustrating that the Pixel 10 Fold’s wireless charging is slower than the Pixel 10 Pro XL, despite the latter being significantly cheaper.
