I appreciate the new design of the 2025 Asus ROG Strix Scar 18. The CPU performance is up by 15-25%, the GPU performance is up by around 10-15%, the screen is a Nebula mini LED panel with HDR support, and in silent mode, the fan noise stays below 30 dBA, making it barely audible.
The four speakers provide excellent sound quality.

The Aura software that controls the RGB on this laptop isn’t the most intuitive, but it’s fully functional. Furthermore, you can always replace the entire control software with G-Helper.
I also tested Performance mode, connecting the laptop to a 100W USB-C ROG charger. This only delivers 50-65W of power continuously, resulting in a score of around 4000.
Unplugging the wall power cord and using the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 laptop battery in Performance mode yielded similar results. Manual Mode – Maximum power, noise level 50+ dBA. Silent Mode – Noise level below 35 dBA, still excellent performance. The screen was set to multi-zone lighting mode, brightness set to approximately 120 nits (~60 nits), and a 60Hz refresh rate (the system automatically switches to 60Hz when the laptop is unplugged). ASUS includes a 380W charger, a dual-port design, a long cable, and a thick power adapter. The total weight is approximately one kilogram.
This configuration also includes a 100W ROG USB-C charger in the box. This is useful for traveling, but USB-C power alone won’t allow you to fully utilize your laptop’s potential.
