Installing Windows 11 on Apple Mac is now just one click away

Parallels has announced a new version of its flagship virtual machine software for macOS, making it easier than ever to run Windows 11 on an Apple Mac. Parallels Desktop 18 brings a number of upgrades, chief among them the ability to boot into a Windows 11 virtual desktop with the push of a button.

The new version also features twice the performance of Windows applications on Apple M1 Ultra-powered devices and is compatible with Apple’s ProMotion display technology.

There are many reasons why someone might want to run Windows 11 on macOS, regardless of their Apple allegiance.

For example, using virtualization tools like Parallels, Mac users can use both macOS and Windows-specific applications, and run games that aren’t compatible with Apple devices. In general, virtualization has some performance impact, which means that users are less likely to run applications as smoothly as they would on a regular Windows system.

However, the latest version of Parallels Desktop is designed to provide as close to native performance as possible and adds support for a variety of new features for both personal and business users. These include the ability to share Xbox and Playstation controllers between host devices and Windows VMs, new identity management tools for IT administrators, and the option to configure network conditions for VMs running on Apple M1 Macs.

“We’re proud of our engineering team, who continue to be at the forefront of innovation to provide our users with a more powerful and seamless Parallels Desktop for Mac experience, which integrates with the latest macOS Ventura for the latest Apple hardware. optimized and provide valuable functionality for better productivity and performance,” said Prashant Ketkar, CTO and Product Officer at Corel, which acquired Parallels back in 2018. “It’s so easy to use, our users can rely on Parallels Desktop for Mac to focus on the work at hand.”

Parallels Desktop 18 is available in three editions—Standard, Professional, and Business—each offering slightly different feature sets and virtual desktops with different performance levels.
