The Osmo Action 4 looks almost identical to its predecessor. However, its internals and general specifications have undergone significant changes. First, the Action 4’s sensor is larger than its predecessor, at 1/1.3 inches, with a wider pixel pitch.

Battery life. DJI promises approximately 155 minutes of recording in 1080p mode in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. Recording time in 4K mode is slightly shorter, but in my experience, the camera’s power consumption is excellent. I recently spent a long day on a remote river in Norway, and although I brought a spare DJI Osmo Action 4 Camera battery, I never used it.
Overall, I prefer images captured by the Action 4 due to its adjustable sharpening and noise reduction settings. The ultra-wide-angle mode once again performed exceptionally well, one of my favorite features of the DJI Action Camera.
The Action 4 now has pro settings, allowing you to disable noise reduction and reduce sharpening to zero. Combined with D-Log M and 10-bit color, the Action 4 integrates more easily with other pro cameras. You can add ND filters, but if you need to use the built-in RockSteady stabilization, I recommend using it with caution, as it works best at shutter speeds of 180 seconds and above.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 offers excellent value for money. It’s stable, with no glitches during my testing (except for myself!), and the DJI Osmo Action 4 Camera batterycamera is also very good. A magnetic mounting system should be standard, as it allows for quick bracket changes, and the user interface is easy to use, even for non-tech savvy users.
