There have been many breakthroughs in smartphone technologies over the years.<\/a><\/strong>But one thing that is bothering the manufacturer \u2013 how to have longer battery life for the devices?As\u00a0smartphone\u00a0<\/strong>users are increasingly dependent on their devices, so do the usage time. And having to re-charge several times throughout the day, sometimes scrambling to find a charging station, has become a nuisance task for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Manufacturers over the years have introduced a faster charging method, ease of charging through wireless and bigger\u00a0batterycapacity. But there is a limitation to how much we can extend the battery life. Unfortunately, there is no perfect solution to this issue yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By doing so, it will prolong the battery life to prevent over-charging.\u00a0An\u00a0iPhone lithium-ion battery<\/strong>\u00a0typically holds up to 500 charge cycles, or about two years; before you will see a degrading of the battery to 80% of its full capacity. You complete one charge cycle when you have used an amount equals 100% of your battery’s capacity.\u00a0Example, you use up 60% today and re-charge it fully the next day. If you use 40% the next day, then you will have discharged a total of 100%. That is one charge cycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It could also take several days to complete a cycle.\u00a0Myth: Some users discharge 100% before re-charging to reduce charging cycle. Store it half-charged when you store it long termIf you are not using your device for long-term, do the following:Do not fully charge or fully discharge your device’s battery \u2013 charge it to around 50%.\u00a0Switch off the device to avoid additional battery use.\u00a0Place your device in a cool, moisture-free environment that’s less than 32 degrees.\u00a0If you plan to store your device for longer than six months, charge it to 50% every six months.\u00a0Battery status at 57% charge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust your screen brightness.
