{"id":3633,"date":"2025-02-12T09:28:55","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T09:28:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.batteriesfast.co.uk\/blogs\/?p=3633"},"modified":"2025-03-04T02:03:59","modified_gmt":"2025-03-04T02:03:59","slug":"chatgpt-just-got-openais-most-powerful-upgrade-yet-and-its-ready-for-deep-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.batteriesfast.co.uk\/blogs\/archives\/3633","title":{"rendered":"ChatGPT just got OpenAI\u2019s most powerful upgrade yet \u2014 and it\u2019s ready for \u201cdeep research\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Artificial intelligence has already begun to change the way we conduct research, and now&nbsp;<strong>OpenAI&nbsp;<\/strong>has just released the latest update to ChatGPT, which it says will open up \u201cdeep research\u201d to almost everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new deep research tool is rolling out to ChatGPT Pro subscribers today, just days after the launch of the 03-mini reasoning model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday, we\u2019re launching Deep Research in ChatGPT, a new agent capability that can conduct multi-step research on complex tasks on the internet,\u201d a blog post reads, promising that the model can \u201cdo in just tens of minutes what would take a human hours to do.<strong>OpenAI&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;ChatGPT\u2019s powerful \u201cdeep research\u201d upgrade gets open source copies in just 24 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I just tested ChatGPT\u2019s new o3-mini model, rating its problem-solving and reasoning abilities with 7 prompts \u2014 and the results blew my mind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new agent \u201ccan work independently for you,\u201d \u201cfinding, analyzing, and synthesizing hundreds of online sources to create research analyst-level synthesis reports\u201d based on a series of prompts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s powered by the upcoming ChatGPT o3 model and is aimed at finance, science, policy, and engineering research, but OpenAI also says it can also be used to make purchasing decisions and help with detailed product research (which could be another warning for Google).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the new tool is simple, too.
