The S24 FE feels less like a “fan edition” and more like an exercise in retail positioning. The Galaxy S24 FE uses a Samsung-made Exynos 2400e chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the S24 series, which is a step down in processing power depending on who you ask. The FE’s screen is 6.7 inches, the same size as the S24 Plus, but the resolution is lower at 1080p, which isn’t sharp enough for a panel of this size. It comes standard with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, as well as three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel 3x telephoto camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes with 15W wireless charging, 25W wired charging, and a large 4,700mAh <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

. The S24 FE promises seven years of OS updates, which is great. All in all, it’s decent for a mid-range phone, especially with the 3x zoom lens, which is hard to find for under $800. To its credit, the 3x telephoto lens isn’t too eager to hand over zoom duties to the main sensor in dim indoor lighting, but I could see a fair amount of noise, even when shooting at ISO 200. The main camera’s autofocus is unusually indecisive, with jitters between subjects, and live view in portrait mode noticeably lagging. The camera system gets the job done, but I’m still not convinced that the S24 FE’s dedicated telephoto lens is the standout feature it appears to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you go with a Pixel, you’ll need to make some compromises. The Pixel 8A has a smaller 6.1-inch screen, no dedicated telephoto camera, and a slightly lower waterproof rating. But that’s about it as far as differences go. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Smartphone Battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wireless charging? Great camera? Seven years of software support? The 8A ticks all of those boxes. It has Gorilla Glass on the front and back, plus an aluminum frame. Maybe it’s because of the slightly larger bezels, or the fact that the seams around the edges of the phone aren’t as neat as on higher-end phones. Maybe it’s because of the 1080p screen, which isn’t as crisp and sharp as it should be. I mean, the S24 FE feels cheaper because it’s cheaper. I get that. But it feels more like using a nice midrange Galaxy A series phone than a flagship phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my experience, the Exynos chip performs well during long Pocket City 2 gaming sessions\u00a0Samsung \u00a0Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Smartphone Battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doesn’t get too hot. It’s also capable of running all of the Qualcomm model’s AI features \u2014 including real-time language translation for phone calls, note summarization, and a surprisingly good way to retouch photos \u2014 which are sometimes fun but don’t feel essential. But if Galaxy AI does arrive in a big way, the S24 FE will be ready, just like last year’s model.
