If you’re bored with the default watch faces on your shiny new Apple Watch Ultra or Series 8 and want to unlock the endless options offered by the free Clockology app, you’ve come to the right place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only minor downside right now is that the existing clock faces will need to be updated and redesigned to accommodate the new, larger 49mm Ultra screen size. This means that our curated list of “geek-approved” faces may be a bit thin on Ultra right now. But there’s no harm in trying them out, or trying them out on your new Watch Series 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This guide is for iPhones running on iOS 16 and watchOS 9. Here are the steps you need to get started right away:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to the App Store and download the Clockology app.<\/li>
  2. After downloading the app to your iPhone, you should see it automatically appear on your Apple Watch<\/a>.<\/strong> If it doesn’t go to your Apple Watch app and scroll down to “Clock” and make sure “Show app on Apple Watch” is enabled.<\/li>
  3. After opening the Clockology app on your iPhone, you will see a gallery of faces designed by the community. Those with a “red clock+” icon in the upper left corner mean these are only available to Clockology+ subscribers, and you must subscribe monthly or annually to unlock extras like real-time weather forecasts.<\/li>
  4. Open the Clockology App on your Apple Watch<\/a><\/strong>, then open the Clockology App on your iPhone. Select a popular face and press the “orange watch upload” icon to the right of the face to upload the desired face.<\/li>
  5. You can upload as many watch faces as you want and swipe left\/right to switch between watch faces. Long press each face to delete anything you no longer need.<\/li>
  6. If you are experiencing intermittent issues with the watch face showing, you can correct it by modifying some settings on the Apple Watch app. In the app, go to “General” and scroll down to “Return to Clock” and change the setting to “After 2 minutes” or “After 1 hour”. Then go to “Display & Brightness” and scroll down to “Wake Duration” and set it to “Wake up 70 seconds”.<\/li>
  7. You are all set!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
