The new DJI Air 3S is an excellent drone with a dual-camera system that lets aerial and travel photographers take wide-angle and mid-telephoto photos. With a large 1-inch sensor, next-generation obstacle avoidance, 42GB of internal storage, and excellent low-light performance, this is the best 4K\/60fps drone you can buy today. Up to 4 Hours of Battery LifeA big improvement over the Air 3S is the massive 42GB of internal storage (versus 8GB on the Air 3). Of course, a microSD card is included for more storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tested the Fly More combo and the RC-2 controller, which has a bright 5.5-inch 1080P 700-nit touchscreen. The detachable joystick is comfortable and responsive, even during extended use. The RC-2 has four antennas that transmit clear, low-latency images up to a range of 31.42 miles. The Air 3S has a flight noise level of 80 decibels, similar to the Air 3 and other DJI drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Air 3S has an ActiveTrack 360\u00b0 feature, which basically lets you drag the frame around your subject on the RC-2 touchscreen and move it while keeping the subject in the center of the photo. The DJI Air 3S can fly for 45 minutes on a single charge. That’s a minute less than the Air 3’s 46 minutes and a minute less than the Mavic 3 Classic, but longer than the Mavic Air 2 (34 minutes, $799) and Air 2S (31 minutes, $1,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a total flight time of up to 135 minutes, you no longer have to worry about getting home to recharge your drone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned, the Air 3S charges directly from the USB-C port and can be charged from zero to 100% in less than two hours. The RC-2 controller also includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a 90-minute charge time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Air 3S also performs well in low-light environments, and its obstacle avoidance and return-to-home technology mean you never have to worry about getting lost at night. If you don’t have 42 GB of internal storage, you can use a microSD or the DJI Fly app to quickly download images.
