The new Dell XPS 13 (starting at $1,399) looks “exactly like Dell.” However, like all XPS laptops released in 2024, the 13-inch Dell XPS 13 features a controversial design that might make you look the other way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is especially true if you buy a model with a tandem OLED display (only available on 2024 XPS 13 laptops). For those who prioritize display quality, this feature is enough of a selling point even if you have to sacrifice the Dell XPS 13 laptop battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong> The lack of physical function keys and the Dell XPS 13 laptop’s shorter Dell XPS 13 battery<\/strong> life compared to the non-OLED model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main attraction of our review setup is the gorgeous 13.4-inch (2880 x 1800) in-cell OLED touchscreen, the same one we first saw on the M4 iPad Pro released earlier this year. In my review, I said that Apple’s high-end tablet has the most beautiful OLED display I’ve ever seen on any device, and my opinion of the Dell XPS 13 OLED Tandem hasn’t changed. Everything displayed on the screen looks stunning, thanks to its vibrant colors and strong contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there’s the new Lunar Lake chip, which is the successor to last year’s Meteor Lake. Like its predecessor, this chip features an NPU (neural processing unit), which enables it to perform AI-centric tasks more efficiently than processors without an NPU. While Intel claims its new chip is faster and more power-efficient than Meteor Lake, our testing showed decent performance but inferior Dell XPS 13 <\/strong>laptop <\/strong>battery<\/strong><\/a>life. However, because Lunar Lake is an x86 chip, this laptop won’t have the compatibility issues that plague Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors, such as the XPS 13 I reviewed earlier this year. Although the Lunar Lake Dell XPS 13 offers a different processor than Meteor Lake and Snapdragon Dell XPS 13 Review (LUNAR LAKE): Conclusion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lunar Lake Dell XPS 13 OLED model I reviewed performed well in daily use, but it wasn’t as fast or battery-efficient as the Snapdragon X Elite model. However, if you want a 13-inch laptop with a screen suitable for watching videos, this model is a smart choice. Since it uses an Intel processor, you don’t have to worry about compatibility with x86 applications and games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Dell XPS battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong> life is important to you, the non-OLED and non-touchscreen versions are ideal solutions. But if you want a Dell XPS with a stunning display and don’t mind its unusual design (or high price), this model is worth considering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
