The most important component of any smartphone<\/a><\/u><\/strong>  is the battery. A phone with a kaput battery is like a car with an empty gas tank. It may look good on the outside, but on the inside, all the cool features in the world are useless without its source of power. If you have an iPhone, you must constantly check what’s called Battery Health to ensure it doesn’t dip below a certain level. If it does, you’ll end up with charging issues and the eventual need to have the battery replaced. <\/strong>Here’s how to check your iPhone’s battery health and what it all means.iPhone 14.<\/strong> <\/strong>

To view the battery percentage on the  iPhone 13<\/strong> , either go to the iPhone’s Control Center, add a battery widget to the phone screen, or ask Siri to tell you how much battery is left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening the  iPhone<\/strong>  Control Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first method is to visit the iPhone Control Center. To do this, use your finger to swipe down from the battery icon. Depending on whether or not you use Face ID, you may have to manually unlock the phone first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swiping down from the battery icon opens up Control Center. At the top right, you will now see the battery percentage next to the icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to check your iPhone’s battery health<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second method is one I prefer because it negates the need to do any swiping. You can add a battery widget to your main screen. This widget can be configured to also show the battery percentage for things like your AirPods, and on your iPad , the battery widget shows you the current battery status for the Apple Pencil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find the widgets gallery, long-press on your iPhone screen. When the icons start shaking, look at the top left-hand corner. Tap the + that is now there. When the widgets gallery opens up, scroll down to Batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three different designs, depending on how much detail you want, and how many compatible accessories you have (such as AirPods). Swipe left and right to view each one, and when you’ve decided, tap Add Widget to put it on the phone screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asking Siri<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last method is to simply ask your trusted hard-working uncomplaining assistant, Siri. Either hold the side power button down for a few seconds or say \u201cHey Siri\u201d (depending on your Siri settings). Then ask something like \u201cHey Siri, how much battery percentage do I have left?\u201d (or words to that effect). Like a competent employee with all the facts at her fingertips, she will immediately supply you with the information you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery Suggestions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battery screen may also offer insights and suggestions to help improve your battery life and capacity. For instance, if your screen brightness is set to high, it might suggest turning it down a bit to conserve the battery . You can adjust screen brightness by<\/strong> going to Settings > Display & Brightness and moving the slider. More quickly, swipe up or down to display the Control Center and you can press lightly on the icon for Brightness and move your finger up or down. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery HD+<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery HD+(Opens in a new window) starts by displaying a battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong> with the percentage of charge remaining. Below that are the standby hours for different tasks such as internet browsing, watching or listening to media over Wi-Fi, using the flashlight, and talking via a VoIP app. Swipe the screen to the left to see standby hours for more tasks. Swipe once more to see other stats, including the time required to charge through AC or USB, the current consumption, and the total number of standby hours Swipe a couple more times to see your battery’s temperature and voltage.
